The ICF World Ranking races in Pau, La Seu d’Urgell, Tacen, Krako, Meran, Epinal, Prague and Bratislava counted for this year’s ECA Open Canoe Slalom European Cup series. The series was divided into two parts and the best results were taken into the consideration for the overall standings, as majority of athletes did not have a chance to participate at every race in the series.
In men’s kayak event Italian kayaker Giovanni de Gennaro took the overall win in European Cup series, collecting 159 points, after taking part in Tacen, Krakow, Prague and Bratislava races. Mathurin Madore (FRA), the winner of Bratislava race, finished second in the overall standings with a total of 153 points, and Niko Testen from Slovenia was third with 149 points.
Martina Satkova (CZE) took overall wins both in women’s kayak and canoe events. In canoe she finished the series with a total of 220 points. She had an enormous advantage. Italian Carolina Massarenti was second with 118 points, and German canoeist Kimberely Rappe third with 114 points.
In women’s kayak overall standings Martina Satkova collected 144 points, 12 more than Agata Spagnol from Italy, who was second. Two paddlers were in third position in the overall standings. Both Katerina Bekova (CZE) and Carolin Celina Schaller (ITA) had 111 points at the end of the ECA European Cup season.
Roberto Colazingari (ITA) was the best canoeist in the 2023 ECA European Cup series. 30-year-old paddler from Subiaco competed in Tacen, Krakow, Meran, Prague and Bratislava to collect 173 points. Adrien Fischer (FRA) was second in the overall standings with 144 points, while Žiga Lin Hočevar (SLO) concluded the series in third position with 140 points.
