Tragic death of Juan Antonio Cinto

Sad news comes from Spain. The Royal Spanish Canoe Federation reported on tragic death of Juan Antonio Cito, the president of Canoe Federation of Valencian Community at the age of 66.


Juan Antonio Cinto, who was also present at the 2018 ECA Ocean Racing European Championships in Villajoyosa, died at the age of 66 in a tragic accident during training with his brother in the Santa Quiteria reservoir in the municipality of Almassora, after falling into the water.
 
Juan Antonio Cinto was involved in canoeing both in Valencian and national level, working passionately in development of the sport. He joined the Canoe Federation of Valencian Community in 1998 as vice-president, and two years later he took over the role of the president of the federation. He served in his sixth cycle as the president of the federation, and during his time at the helm of the federation the organisation experienced big evolvement.
