Vitor Felix reelected as president of the Portuguese Canoe Federation

Vitor Felix reelected as president of the Portuguese Canoe Federation 5.12.2021

Vitor Felix will continue his work as the president of the Portuguese Canoe Federation. He was the only candidate for this position.

“The fact of being the only candidate reinforces our responsibility even more and demonstrates the trust that the agents of the sport have in our project”, said Felix, pointing out that Portuguese canoeing must “always aim to do more and better”.

The direction has not changed. Vice president Ricardo Machado remains responsible for the selections, while Mario Santos, former director and head of Portuguese mission to the London 2012 Olympic Games, will lead the Council of Justice, since he is a lawyer.

“We have a winning team. We are aware that the work developed was globally positive, however, sports organizations must be dynamic and demanding, so we are one of the biggest references in Portuguese sport and an international reference in the sport,” Felix concluded.

Portuguese Canoeing in addition to World Cup podiums, World and European Championships medals also celebrated at Tokyo Olympic games, thanks to Fernando Pimenta in men’s K1 1000 metres event and Norbert Mourao in paracanoeing VL2 200 metres event.
