World-class competitors at the start line of the 2024 ECA Canoe Sprint, Paracanoe and SUP European Championships 11.6.2024

Everything is ready in Szeged for the start of the 2024 ECA Canoe Sprint, Paracanoe and SUP European Championships, which will take place this week, between Wednesday and Sunday. Five days of exciting action will include world-class competitors in canoe sprint, paracanoe and SUP events.


Representatives of 36 European nations will fight for the European Champion titles in canoe sprint part of the European Championships, including many athletes that will later this summer take part in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Among the highlights of the championships will undoubtedly be men's and women's K4 events, headed by the strongest Hungarian crews with Nadas, Csizmadia, Kuli and Totka in men's competition and Pupp, Csipes, Fojt and Gazso in women's competition. The local favourites will fight for the gold medal, but the task will not be an easy one, as crews from Poland, Serbia, Lithuania, Ukraine and other countries have similar goals this week.
 
Men's part of the competition includes Balint Kopasz, Fernando Pimenta, Martin Fuksa, Artuur Peters, Catalin Chirila, Adam Varga, Maxime Beaumont, Zaza Nadiradze, Mads Pedersen, Thirbjorn Rask, Jon Vold, Pablo Grana, Henrikas Zustautas, Wiktor Glazunow, Roberts Akmens, Carlos Garrote and Inigo Pena, Manfredi Rizza, Andrea di Liberto to name just some of the participating paddlers.
 
In women's competition, we can find Emma Jorgensen, Tamara Csipes, Milica Novaković, Hermien Peters, Maria Corbera, Antia Jacome, Dorota Borowska, Špela Ponomarenko Janić, Anna Lucz, Katarzyna Kolodziejczyk, Justyna Iskrzycka, Alida Gazso, Daniela Cociu, Maria Olarasu and many more on the start list.
 
Paracanoeing European Championships will welcome athletes from 17 countries. There are many medallists from Paralympic Games and past European and World Paracanoeing Championships on the start line. The main favourites for the medals include Maryna Mazhula, Nelia Barbosa, Natalia Lahutenko, Edina Mueller, Anja Adler, Katalin Varga, Vladislav Yepifanov, Federico Mancarella, Mykola Syniuk, Remy Boulle, Norberto Mourao, Stuart Woods, Robert Suba, Markus Swoboda ...
 
For the first time in history we will applaud the ECA SUP European Champions. Competitors from 21 countries will fight for the European titles and a place in the history books in the four events - long distance, technical race, sprint and inflatable. Not only SUP specialists, there will be also familiar names from canoe sprint on the start of the competition. The A finals of the 2024 ECA Canoe Sprint, Paracanoe and SUP European Championships on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be streamed online exclusively at Eurovision Sport platform www.eurovisionsport.com, while the Wednesday’s and Thursday’s programme and non-televised events will be live on www.youtube.com/CanoeEurope. The following TV stations will broadcast the Championships between Friday and Sunday: MTVA Hungary, Ceska TV Czechia, JOJ Sport Slovakia, RTP Portugal, RTVE Spain, RAI Sport Italy, RTV Slovenia.
