Czech canoe sprinter Josef Dostal was named Czech Athlete of the Year 2024 after his successful season in which he became both Olympic and World Champion. In the journalists' poll he won ahead of Wimbledon tennis champion Barbora Krejcikova and his teammate and Olympic Champion Martin Fuksa.

Pascal Bonnetain was elected the new president of the French Canoe Kayak and Paddle Sports Federation (FFCK) on Saturday, 14^th December, following the Elective General Assembly, with 64.67 % of the votes.

The season 2025 will again bring the ECA Dragon Boat Nations and Clubs European Championships. The competition will be held in Italy, more precisely in Spresiano – Treviso, between 4^th and 7^th June 2025.

The new president of the Lithuanian Canoe Federation (LBKIF) has been elected. The position is now held by Aurimas Lankas, the bronze medallist of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. Edvinas Ramanauskas, a long-time partner of Aurimas Lankas in the K2, has been elected as the Secretary General.

Slovak Canoeing mourns the death of Ing. Jan Stachera, former athlete, coach and official, who passed away at the age of 82. He was also the chairman of the Kayak Club Zvolen.
