This year, Spresiano, a commune in the Province of Treviso in the Italian region Veneto, located about 40 kilometres north of Venice, was supposed to host the 2025 ECA Dragon Boat European Championships. However, the organisers have informed the European Canoe Association that they are withdrawing from organising the event, which was originally scheduled for the first week of June (4–7 June).

Portugal, Canoe Marathon superpower, will host the 2025 ECA Canoe Marathon European Championships from 2nd to 8th June. The competition week in Ponte de Lima will include Senior, U23 and Junior events, as well as Masters races and paracanoe demonstration races. Before the championships, the 2025 ECA Marathon Talent Identification Camp will be held, and the deadline for applications is 14th April.

The 2025 ECA Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup series has already begun with a race in Fulda, and German organizers will prepare another event on 17th May, when Diekirch in Luxemburg will welcome the best Wildwater paddlers.

European Canoeing mourns the passing of Halina Pikula at the age of 71. A passionate sports enthusiast, Pikula served for many years as an ECA Board member. She was also the Secretary General of the Polish Canoe Federation from 1983 to 2009.
