Czech canoe sprinter Josef Dostal was named Czech Athlete of the Year 2024 after his successful season in which he became both Olympic and World Champion. In the journalists' poll he won ahead of Wimbledon tennis champion Barbora Krejcikova and his teammate and Olympic Champion Martin Fuksa.

The new president of the Lithuanian Canoe Federation (LBKIF) has been elected. The position is now held by Aurimas Lankas, the bronze medallist of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. Edvinas Ramanauskas, a long-time partner of Aurimas Lankas in the K2, has been elected as the Secretary General.
