This weekend brings fifth race in the 2019 ECA Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup race series. Piateda - Valtellina, Italy, will welcome wildwater paddlers on Saturday, 6th July 2019. Heats are scheduled for 9:30 and the finals will start at 15:30. Organisers will provide livestreaming of the final, starting at 15:00.

In the year 2000 paddlers fought for World Champion titles and this weekend the Vezere River hosted World Cup race. During the two competition days French paddlers took majority of the medals – altogether 23 – in classic and sprint races. Italian, Czech, Swiss and Slovenian representatives won the remaining seven medals. On Saturday former French president François Hollande awarded the best in men’s kayak classic race.
