David Szlachta (FRA) was in a double role at the 2018 ECA Ocean Racing European Championships in Spain. He was competitor, winning bronze medal in SS1 men's event and gold medal in non-official SS2 mixed event, as well as ECA's technical delegate for ocean racing. Around 180 competitors from ten European countries are gathered on the Costa Blanca and the first competition day brought races in SS1 Junior, U23 and Senior categories. The start of the race was in Villajoyosa and finish in Altea, a little over 20 kilometres away.
