Vejen, Denmark, hosted the 2023 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships and European paddlers were once more in the spotlight, claiming majority of the medals. Hungary topped the medal table with 16 medals and Spain concluded championships with a total of 14 medals.

On the final day of the 2023 ECA Canoe Marathon European Championships four medal events were on the programme in Slavonski Brod, Croatia. Polish duo Mateusz Zuchora - Mateusz Borgiel won European Champion title in senior men's C2 event, Evelin Csengeri - Panna Sinko were the best in women's K2, Quentin Urban and Jeremy Candy in men's K2, while Arpad Kekesi - Daniel Zemen won in junior MK2 event.

Ukrainian canoeist Liudmyla Babak won her fifth canoe marathon European Champion title at the 2023 ECA Canoe Marathon European Championships in Slavonski Brod, Croatia. Manuel Garrido (ESP), Vanda Kiszli (HUN) and Mads Pedersen (DEN) also stood on the top podium position. In Saturday's junior events David Pazos (ESP) and Janka Reisz - Klaudia Kmetyo (HUN) took the gold medals.
