Liffey Descent celebrated 60 years

The Liffey Descent celebrated 60th edition this year and it was a big win for youngsters - Irish kayaker Ronan Foley (19 years) and Danish representative Nikolai Thomsen (18 years) who set the fastest time of the race. More than 472 boats took part in the sporting event. The descent is 32 kilometres long and includes 10 weirs and a portage on the journey from Straffan to the Garda Boat Club in Islandbridge.

83th edition of International descent of the Sella attracted more than 1000 participants

The Descent of the Sella in Spain, which is the oldest canoeing competition on the international calendar, once again attracted many spectators and over 1000 participants from around the world. This was the 83th edition and participants from 16 countries took part in this sporting event. It is believed that around 200,000 spectators followed the competition from the river banks.

Last medals at Canoe Marathon European Championships for France, Hungary and Poland

France celebrated a gold medal in the last event of the 2019 ECA Canoe Marathon European Championships in Decize, France. Quentin Urban and Jeremy Candy were the strongest in men's K2 race. Renata Csay and Zsofia Czellai-Voros from Hungary won European Champion title in women's K2 and Mateusz Zuchora - Mateusz Borgiel from Poland were the best in men's C2 race.

Decize witnessed exciting canoe marathon races of the 2019 ECA Canoe Marathon European Championships in senior women's and men's K1 and C1 events. Third competition day in France brought third consecutive European champion title for Liudmyla Babak in women's C1, second consecutive title for Manuel Campos in men's C1, second title of this championships for Mads Pedersen in men's K1 and gold medal for Vanda Kiszli in women's K1 race.
