Czech canoe sprinter Josef Dostal was named Czech Athlete of the Year 2024 after his successful season in which he became both Olympic and World Champion. In the journalists' poll he won ahead of Wimbledon tennis champion Barbora Krejcikova and his teammate and Olympic Champion Martin Fuksa.

The new president of the Lithuanian Canoe Federation (LBKIF) has been elected. The position is now held by Aurimas Lankas, the bronze medallist of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. Edvinas Ramanauskas, a long-time partner of Aurimas Lankas in the K2, has been elected as the Secretary General.

Following the exciting season 2024 the ICF issued an updated Canoe Sprint World Rankings where European competitors occupy majority of the top positions. As per the current ICF Canoe Sprint Rules, World Rankings are calculated per person for individual and per National Federation for team boats.

Czech canoe sprinter Josef Dostal was named best Army Sportsman of the Year in Czechia, while his teammate Martin Fuksa, last year’s winner, came in second. The decision was made by votes from coaches, officials, and experts from the Army Sports Centre Dukla. In third place was Olympic bronze medallist in javelin, Nikola Ogrodnikova.
