The 2022 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships took place in Augsburg, Germany. This was the 42nd edition of senior canoe slalom world championships and the Augsburg Eiskanal hosted the championships for the fourth time (previously hosting in 1957, 1985 and 2003). A total of 380 athletes from 70 countries participated in the event. Germany was the most successful nation, winning a total of nine medals.

While majority of the eyes were on the canoe slalom world championships in Augsburg, Prague hosted the ECA European Open Canoe Slalom Cup with strong international participation.

The penultimate venue in the 2022 ECA Junior Canoe Slalom European Cup series was Roudnice, Czech Republic. Young paddlers from 18 countries showed their skills over the two competition days.

Following the short break the 2022 ECA Junior Canoe Slalom European Cup series continued in Krakow, Poland. Almost 300 athletes from 14 countries competed over two competition days.

Ivrea, the venue of last year’s Senior Canoe Slalom European Championships hosted the 2022 edition of junior and U23 Canoe Slalom World Championships. Young European paddlers once more dominated the competition, winning majority of the medals. France, Czech Republic and Slovakia topped the medals table.
