The canoe slalom world cup series moved from Slovakia’s Liptovsky Mikulaš just across the border to Krakow, Poland. European paddlers won three gold medals in five events that were held over the weekend. David Florence was the fastest man of canoe final, Olympic champion Joseph Clarke (both GBR) was the fastest in men’s kayak final and Tereza Fišerova Jakub Jane (CZE) were the best crew of C2 mix event.

The 2018 Canoe Slalom World Cup series started in Liptovsky Mikulaš, Slovakia, on a course that hosted the 2016 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships. European paddlers were once more occupying the majority of podium positions. Sideris Tasiadis and Sebastian Schubert were the winners of men’s canoe and kayak final and Sona Stanovska – Jan Batik from Slovakia celebrated a win in C2 mix event. Ten more medals went to the hands of European slalomists.

The 2018 ECA Junior Canoe Slalom Cup series of events for future canoe slalom stars begins this weekend with event in Valstagna, Italy. Five more events will follow until the beginning of August when the series finishes with races in Česke Budejovice in Czech Republic.
