The Liffey Descent celebrated 60th edition this year and it was a big win for youngsters - Irish kayaker Ronan Foley (19 years) and Danish representative Nikolai Thomsen (18 years) who set the fastest time of the race. More than 472 boats took part in the sporting event. The descent is 32 kilometres long and includes 10 weirs and a portage on the journey from Straffan to the Garda Boat Club in Islandbridge.
