Organisers of the ECA Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup in Valtellina, Italy, have been forced to cancel the competition which was scheduled for 3rd and 4th July 2021. In their annoucement they have pointed out the reason lies in continuing situation of uncertainty and instability due to health, regulatory and economic factors.

The 2021 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships is scheduled for 6 - 9 May 2021 in Ivrea, Italy. It will not be just Canoe Slalom European Championships, but it will also serve as European Olympic Qualifier and it will host the first Extreme Canoe Slalom European Championships in history.

The 2021 ECA European Open Canoe Slalom Cup series kicked off this weekend with a race in La Seu d'Urgell. Olympic Champion Maialen Chourraut was unbeatable in women's K1 final, Luis Fernandez took the win in men's C1, Russian Pavel Eigel was the fastest in men's K1 and Andorran Monica Doria Vilarrubla finished first in women's C1.

ECA's Board of Directors held a meeting and decided who will host the 2024 ECA European Championships in different canoeing disciplines. They have also appointed the technical delegates for all disciplines and new canoe sprint and canoe slalom committee members.
