German canoe sprinters Steffi Kriegerstein and Tom Liebscher received the awards for best female and male athlete in Dresden at the 26th annual gala evening. Jens Kühn received an award for the coach of the year.

JUST IN: Following the withdrawal of Linz, Austria, as host city of the 2020 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships it has been confirmed that this canoeing event will be held in Moscow, Russia. This second largest city in Europe, with over 13 million people living within the city limits, will welcome Europe’s best young canoe sprint paddlers between 9th and 12th July 2020.
