Young Serbian canoe sprinter Branko Lagundzic was named athlete of the year in the polling organised by a newspaper Glas Podrinja. He won with a big advantage in votes both in readers polling as well as in selection by a special jury.

Team GB has officially announced the athletes who will compete in canoe slalom and kayak cross at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. 2016 Olympic Champion Joe Clarke MBE and 2020 Tokyo silver medallist Mallory Franklin will be competing in Paris as well as 2023 World Champion Kimberley Woods and 2018 European Championships silver medallist Adam Burgess.

In the season 2024 canoe slalom paddlers will be able to compete in the ECA Open Canoe Slalom European Cup series. Again, there were eight races in the ICF World Ranking race series selected to be a part of the 2024 Open Canoe Slalom European Cup.

The second competition weekend in Australia at the Sydney Olympic Games canoe slalom venue brought Australian Open race and another podium positions for European paddlers who train for the upcoming season in the land Down Under. This time Martina Wegman and Marjorie Delassus took the top podium positions.

Slovenian paddlers had another exceptional season 2023, in which they celebrated World and European Champion titles, as well as medals at World Cups. As many as 39 representatives of Canoe Federation of Slovenia won at least a medal at major international competitions in last season. The selection of the best was again challenging, at the end Benjamin Savšek and Ana Šteblaj won the titles of paddlers of the year.
