Matej Benus is the Best Sportsman of the Year 2024 in Slovakia

Slovak Canoe Slalom paddler Matej Benus was named the Best Sportsman of the Year 2024 in Slovakia. Last year he won a medal at the Olympic Games in Paris and was the overall winner of the World Cup series.

ECA Board of Directors allocated the ECA European Championships

The Board of the Directors of the European Canoe Association met in Ponte de Lima, Portugal, to discuss the future of the canoeing in Europe, including the strategic plan, development programmes, and the agenda of the upcoming Congress in Budapest. During the meeting, they also allocated several ECA European Championships.

ECA Board of Directors visited Clube Nautico de Ponte de Lima

The ECA Board of Directors had the privilege of visiting the impressive Clube Náutico de Ponte de Lima, where they were warmly welcomed by the representatives of the Portuguese Canoe Federation Federação Portuguesa de Canoagem and the local club. Among those who welcomed the delegation was Fernando Pimenta , Portugal's canoeing superstar, a two-time Olympic medalist, and multiple European and World champion.

Grzegorz Kotowicz Re-elected as President of the Polish Canoe Federation

After the canoeing season 2024, many federations held the elections and among them was Polish Canoe Federation. Grzegorz Kotowicz will lead the Polish federation in another Olympic cycle. Grzegorz Kotowicz, a two-time Olympic medallist, received 236 votes, while his opponent Jozef Bejnarowicz got 129.
