Sad news comes from Belgium. Long-time canoeing official and ICF honorary member John Leukemans passed away at the age of 93. He was named honorary member of the ICF in 2004, he was also honorary president of the Antverpia Royal Canoe Club.
We would like to express sincere condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace.

Women’s canoe and men’s kayak heats did not bring many surprises. Titouan Castryck was the fastest in men’s kayak heats and Gabriela Satkova in women’s canoe heats.

Australia’s Jessica Fox took the glory of the event, and two European paddlers joined her on the winner’s podium. Klaudia Zwolinska (POL) was second and Kimberley Woods (GBR) finished in a bronze medal position.
