Slovak, French and Slovenian paddlers at the top of current ECA European Open Canoe Slalom standings

Only one race is left in the 2019 ECA European Open Canoe Slalom race series which is in its first and test season. All six races that count for the ECA European Open Canoe Slalom series are organised as part of the ICF’s World ranking races. Five races have already been held this year, there is only a competition in Bratislava ahead of slalom paddlers and in the current standings representatives from Slovakia, France and Slovenia hold the top positions in four categories that count for the race series.

Hungary the most successful country of Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships in Romania

The 2019 ICF Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships in Pitesti, Romania, ended with the celebration of Hungarian team, which picked up a total of 21 medals (10 gold, six silver and five bronze medals). Members of German junior and U23 teams won 13 medals in the overall standings, making Europe the most successful continent of the championships.

Banja Luka hosted this year's junior and U23 Wildwater Canoeing World Championships. On Vrbas River which has seen in the past also editions of European Championships, European teams showed the best form, with the strongest nations, such as Czech Republic, France, Italy, Slovenia and Germany picking up several medals.

France and Czech Republic dominated Junior and U23 World Championships in Krakow

The second major canoe slalom competition in junior and U23 age groups besides ECA European Championships that was held in Liptovsky Mikulaš was Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom World Championships in Krakow. French and Czech paddlers did great in Poland, winning several medals for their national team. Extreme slalom world championships for Juniors and U23 was also organised in the same week.
