ECA Canoe Marathon Masters Cup is done, European Championships starts on Thursday

First two competition days in Metković, Croatia, are done. The venue and Neretva river were tested by masters who competed on Monday and Tuesday in the ECA Canoe Marathon Masters Euro Cup. The opening ceremony of the ECA Canoe Marathon European Championships starts on Wednesday and the competition part of the European Championships follows on Thursday.

Double win for Great Britain, gold also for Czech Republic in Krakow

The canoe slalom world cup series moved from Slovakia’s Liptovsky Mikulaš just across the border to Krakow, Poland. European paddlers won three gold medals in five events that were held over the weekend. David Florence was the fastest man of canoe final, Olympic champion Joseph Clarke (both GBR) was the fastest in men’s kayak final and Tereza Fišerova Jakub Jane (CZE) were the best crew of C2 mix event.

European Championships in Auronzo ends with 500 and 200 meters finals

After four days of exciting competition the 2018 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships in Auronzo di Cadore, Italy, came to an end with final races in the 500 and 200 meters distances. We’ve seen exciting races and familiar faces on the podium, but also tough conditions in the afternoon part of the programme with strong wind and waves that caused trouble for the athletes.

Carlo Tacchini defended the U23 European Champion title in front of his fans

The 2018 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships in Auronzo di Cadore finally brought the first medallists. All medals of the day were awarded in the 1000 metres events. Biggest Italian hope for the medal Carlo Tacchini defended his U23 European Champion title he won last year in Belgrade in men's C1 1000 metres final. Rasmus Knudsen from Denmark also repeated his success from the previous years winning gold medal in men’s K1 Junior 1000 metres final.
