The pre-season preparations are slowly coming to an end and canoe slalom paddlers have already opened their 2025 season with several international races. Pau, France, hosted the first of the two races in the Pyrenees Cup series, which counts as the ICF Canoe Slalom World Ranking Race as well as ECA Open Canoe Slalom European Cup race.

Many top French and international canoe slalom paddlers are currently in Pau, where they are preparing for the challenges of the new season. At the venue, which has previously hosted both World and European Championships as well as several World Cup events, this week a strong international competition - the Pyrenees Cup - is taking place. This race is part of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Ranking Series and it also counts as the ECA Open Canoe Slalom European Cup. Prior to this, they organised an exciting Champion Race.
Read moreThe ICF Board of Directors meeting which was held in China, was the last one for two ECA representatives in the ICF. Branko Lovrić will retire at the end of the month after more than three decades in canoeing, including 20 years serving as the ICF Board member, while Jovana Stanojević is stepping down as the ECA Board member after being appointed ECA Sport and Event Manager. Both were recognised on the final day of the ICF Board of Directors’ meeting in Hangzhou.
