France concludes European Championships in Skopje with double gold

14/05/2017 – The 2017 ECA Wildwater Canoeing European Championships in Skopje (MKD) ended with exciting sprint team races on the Treska River. French paddlers were the most successful during the last day of the championships. They were the best in men’s C1 team final and men’s C2 event and also picked up a silver medal in men’s kayak event.

Triple wins for French C2 and Slovenian K1 paddlers in Skopje

13/05/2017 - The 2017 ECA Wildwater Canoeing European Championships in Skopje (MKD) continued today with individual wildwater sprint races. The competition moved from the city centre and the Vardar River to the picturesque Matka Canyon in the suburbs of Skopje. In very equal finals where only a few hundredths of a second meant a significant difference in the final position France celebrated a triple win in men’s C2 final and Slovenia did the same in men’s kayak event. Athletes from Italy, Switzerland, Croatia and Czech Republic also reached the podium positions

First ever European Classic race team medal for Slovenian kayakers

12/05/2017 - The second competition day of the 2017 ECA Wildwater Canoeing European Championships in Skopje, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, again brought some exciting racing on the Vardar River with team events in classic. It was once more that Czech Republic dominated the classic team events, picking up gold medals in three out of four events, but Slovenian kayakers won the historic first ever gold team medal in classic events at European Championships.

Double gold for Czech canoeist Ondrej Rolenc

11/05/2017 - Czech canoeist Ondrej Rolenc was in the spotlight of the first competition day of the 2017 ECA Wildwater Canoeing European Championships in Skopje, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. 25-year-old Rolenc won two gold medals in the individual classic events on the Vardar River. Another milestone was reached by Swiss paddler Sabine Eichenberger, who won gold medal in women’s canoe event 20 years after she won European Champion title in women’s kayak event. Italian paddlers Mathilde Rosa and Cecilia Panato also picked up two medals each today.
