Young paddlers showed their skills in Krakow

The second race of the ECA Junior Canoe Slalom European Cup in Krakow is done and many of Saturday’s medallists reached the podium positions on a course which is set to host this year’s Junior and U23 World Championships also on Sunday. The race series will now move to Valstagna, Italy, where two races will be organised next Saturday and Sunday.

French domination at Wildwater canoeing World Cup race in Treignac

It took 19 years to bring back major wildwater canoeing events to French village Treignac. In the year 2000 paddlers fought for World Champion titles and this weekend the Vezere River hosted World Cup race. During the two competition days French paddlers took majority of the medals – altogether 23 – in classic and sprint races. Italian, Czech, Swiss and Slovenian representatives won the remaining seven medals. On Saturday former French president François Hollande awarded the best in men’s kayak classic race.

Merano hosted ECA European Open Canoe Slalom race

The fourth race in new ECA European Open Canoe Slalom race series was held in Merano. Competitors from nine European countries and Australia fought for the best positions on Saturday and Sunday. Maria Clara Giai Pron (WK1) and Flavio Micozzi (MC1) took the wins for Italy, Yves Prigent (FRA) was the best in men’s K1 and Alexandra Broome (AUS) won in women’s C1.
