Double Slovenian win in men's kayak, two medals for Paloudova

The 2019 ECA Wildwater Canoeing European Championships in Soča Valley, Slovenia, started with individual classic race. Slovenian kayakers recorded a double win in men’s event thanks to Simon Oven and Anže Urankar. Melanie Matyhs is the new European Champion in women’s kayak event, Emil Milihram was the fastest in men’s canoe race and Cecilia Panato won in women’s canoe event. Anežka Paloudova picked up two medals, she was third in women’s kayak and canoe races.

Legendary Elena Kaliska the fastest at third ECA European Open Canoe Slalom Cup

The third race in newly introduced ECA European Open Canoe Slalom Cup race series was organised in Liptovsky Mikulaš, Slovakia. The same venue will host this year’s Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships in July. The winner of the third race in women’s kayak was two-times Olympic champion Elena Kaliska (SVK). Marko Mirgorodsky, Isak Ohrstrom and Monika Škachova also reached the top positions in their respective categories. Competitors from 13 countries took part in this race.
