Athletes from 14 countries are competing this weekend at the 2022 ECA European Open Canoe Slalom Cup in Liptovsky Mikulaš. On the opening day the heats were on and Corinna Kuhnle, Benjamin Savšek, Marta Bertoncelli and Jakub Grigar produced the best runs to win in their respective heats.

The second race in the traditional Pyrenees Cup series takes place this weekend in Pau. This race also counts for the 2022 ECA European Open Canoe Slalom Cup series. Marie-Zelia Lafont, Mathurin Madore, Monica Doria Vilarrubla and Liam Jegou were the best in Saturday’s heats.

The 2022 ECA European Open Canoe Slalom cup series continues this weekend with two traditional venues that have many experiences with top level competitions. One is Pau, where the second race of the Pyrenees Cup will be organised, and the other Liptovsky Mikulaš, which will host the ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships later this month.

The Venue of 2022 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships will host the last rehearsal before the best senior canoe slalom paddlers will fight for the European Champion titles. The traditional International Tarta Slalom will be held on 7th and 8th May.

The 1992 Canoe Slalom Olympic course in La Seu d’Urgell hosted strong international canoe slalom race Pyrenees Cup which also counted for the 2022 ECA European Open Canoe Slalom Cup series. Monica Doria Vilarrubla took the win in women’s canoe and kayak event, Manuel Ochoa was the best in men’s K1 and Liam Jegou in men’s C1 final. Laura Pellicer Chica and Leo Vuitton were the winners of extreme slalom final.
