A lot was at stake at the 2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Lee Valley, as paddlers did not only fight for the World Champion titles, but also for the 2024 Paris Olympic quotas. British kayaker Joseph Clarke was the hero of the championships, winning two individual gold medals - in men’s kayak final and in men’s kayak cross.

Following the Canoe Slalom at the European Games Krakow-Malopolska 2023, the Kolna Sports Centre hosted another major canoe slalom competition of the year. This time it was junior and U23 paddlers who navigated through the gates on the Vistula River and fought for the World Champion titles.
