The first medals of the 2017 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships have been awarded today in Hohenlimburg, Germany. After the morning heats in C1W and C1M junior and U23 categories, athletes fought for the first European Champion titles in afternoon’s team events. Czech athletes have been the most successful during the first day of finals with four gold medals and one bronze. Eleven European nations won medals in Friday’s team events.

Austrians Lisa Leitner and Felix Oschamautz produced the fastest times in their respective events, Czech Republic also had two winners of the day in men’s C2 U23 with Mružek and Kašpar and in women’s Junior category with Antonie Galuškova. Martin Srabotnik (SLO) was the fastest in men’s K1 U23 heats.

On Saturday and Sunday Slovakia hosted the last two events of the season with athletes from Europe as well as overseas participating in the events.
