19 European nations will fight for Canoe Polo European Champion titles in Saint-Omer

Next canoeing European Championships of the season 2017 will start this week in France. 51 teams from 19 European countries will fight for the Canoe Polo European Champion titles in Saint-Omer, located approximately 70 kilometres from Lille. The tournament will start on Wednesday with an opening ceremony; the first matches are scheduled for Thursday. First medallists will be known on Saturday, when men and women in U21 categories will play in the semi-finals, 3rd place matches and gold medal games. On Sunday championships will conclude with final games in women’s and men’s senior categories.

The 2017 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships has come to an end with the remaining finals in individual C1W and C1M categories. New C1W U23 European Champion is Miren Lazkano from Spain, Marko Mirgorodsky (SVK) was the best in C1M U23 final. The new Junior C1W European Champion is Monica Doria Vilarrubla from Andorra and 2017 C1M Junior European Champion became Vojtech Heger from Czech Republic.

Double European Crown for Austrian paddlers in Hohenlimburg

The first individual Junior and U23 European Champions of the season 2017 are known. Austrians, like in the heats, finished in the first position in two events, but it was Viktoria Wolffhardt and Mario Leitner who celebrated a gold medal in today’s kayak U23 finals. Laia Sorribes is Junior European Champion in women’s kayak event and Tine Kancler in men’s kayak. Vojtech Mružek and Albert Kašpar were the fastest in men’s C2 U23 final.
