First medals of the 2017 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships in Ljubljana – Tacen have been awarded to the paddlers of France, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Slovenia and Germany. All the team events were held today in the capital city of Slovenia and brought some interesting results. Slovenia won historic first gold medal in women’s K1 event, while Slovakia failed to win a medal both in C1 and C2 men events where they were defending champions.

Most of the favourites came safely through to the semi-finals, the biggest upset was in men’s C2 event, where multiple Olympic medallists Peter and Pavol Hochschorner (SVK) failed to proceed to the semi-final.

Read more30/05/2017 - Only one day is left until the 2017 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships in Ljubljana – Tacen (SLO) which will start with an opening ceremony in the city centre of Slovenian capital in front of the town hall this Wednesday, 31st May 2017. The races will be organised in the suburb of Ljubljana on the Sava River from Thursday to Sunday. Athletes from 23 European countries will participate in this year’s edition of the ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships.
