Italian Canoeing has lost one of the prominent people in the sport, Vittorio Cirini, who passed away this November. He was a long-time Vice President of the Italian Kayak and Canoe Federation.

Jean Zoungrana, the President of the ECA, attended the multi-sport European Championships meeting this week in Geneva, Switzerland. It was an opportunity to reaffirm the ECA's commitment to the organisation of these championships and to meet the European federations present in the sports programme of this sporting event (Cycling, Rowing, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Climbing and Triathlon).

In 2024, the Stand Up Paddling European Championships will be included in the ECA Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe European Championships in Szeged for the first time. There are a little over six months to this historic event, but this November European competitors excelled at the ICF Stand Up Paddling World Championships in Pattaya, Thailand.
