Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee awarded sportsmen and women and sports officials for their contribution to the Olympic movement and sport as well for their sporting success. ECA vice-president Miroslav Haviar received a golden badge award for outstanding contributions to the Olympic movement and sport. With much effort and strict safety rules at the venue the 2020 ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cup happened in Szeged, Hungary. The attendance was lower than usual due to travel restrictions and situation worldwide and the thousands of fans that usually gather on the stands of Szeged regatta course were missing, but the athletes were happy to compete at the only major international canoe sprint competition this year. Athletes from more than 30 countries took part in the World Cup.
