Belgrade prepares for the 2017 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships

Organisers of the 2017 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint Championships are now in the final stage of the preparations for the first Canoe Sprint European Championships in the season 2017. Belgrade, Serbia, will welcome Europe’s best young canoe sprint athletes who will compete on Ada Ciganlija between 22nd and 25th June 2017.

Germany hosts first European SUP Inflatable Championships

The Lost Mills SUP event which takes place about 180 kilometres North-East of Stuttgart, Germany, was special this year as it served as the first European SUP Inflatable Championships. It was Steven Bredow (GER) who won the 11 kilometres race, ahead of Thomas Vanecek (CZE) and James van Drunen (NED). In women’s 11 kilometres long race the win also stayed in Germany thanks to Sonni Hoenscheid. Petronella van Malsen (NED) finished second and Krystina Babiankova (CZE) third. In the 12’6 it was again German Ole Scwarz who produced the fastest time to win the event ahead of Andi Saurer and Peter Widert. The fourth win for Germany came in women’s 12’6 category with Hannah Leni Krah. Laura Bartl finished second and Sonja Duschek third.

Slovenia and Italy top the medal table of the second ECA Canoe Slalom Junior Cup

After the successful first race of the season in the ECA Canoe Slalom Junior Cup series young athletes did not have much time to rest. On Sunday they competed in the second race of the weekend in Slovenia. Future stars of canoe slalom competitions showed some excellent runs on the Soča River. Slovenian athletes took an opportunity and picked up eight medals on their home course during the second competition day, but Italian team followed them closely with a total of five medals. Representatives of Czech Republic, Russia and United States of America picked up three medals each and Slovakian paddlers won two medals in the last race in Solkan. The series will continue in Austria on 26th and 27th June 2017.

Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Italy and USA win the first medals of the 2017 ECA Canoe Slalom Junior Cup

The 2017 ECA Canoe Slalom Junior race series started today on the Soča River in Solkan, Slovenia. The first two events of the series in the year 2017 attracted almost 400 athletes from Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Great Britain, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Hungary and United States of America. Six nations won medals during the first competition day.

Germany unbeatable at the ECA Canoe Polo Cup in Denmark

Denmark hosted the second ECA Canoe Polo Cup tournament of the season 2017. Competitors from five countries enjoyed the new stadium built in May 2016. It was Germany who won both in men’s and women’s final of the tournament. Men’s team beat Denmark’s A team in the final, while it was a certain win for Germany in women’s final with Germany playing against the team Germany UA. Sweden finished third and Poland fourth in women’s event, while Denmark B and Sweden concluded the tournament in third and fourth place.
