Emma Wiggs added another gold medal to her impressive collection and also Va’a title she won on the second day of canoeing events in Serbia. Jeanette Chippington defended her title from Plovdiv, as well as Yemelianov, Swoboda and Farias.

Pimenta European Champion for the third consecutive time, Fuksa sets best European time

The first gold medal of the 2018 ECA Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe European Championships went to the hands of Czech canoeist Martin Fuksa who was the best in men’s C1 1000 metres final. Fernando Pimenta defended his title in men’s K1 1000 metres event. German Nina Krankemann was the best in women’s 1000 metres final. Hungary, Russia, Belarus, Serbia and Poland also celebrated European Champion titles.

In the opening day of Canoe Sprint European Championships no problems for favourites

The 2018 ECA Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe European Championships in Belgrade started with heats and semifinals in 1000 and 500 metres events. Favourites did not have much troubles advancing to the finals which are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
