Czech wildwater kayakers Richard Hala, Kamil Mružek and Filip Hric received a fair play award that was awarded to them by the Czech Fair play Club. They were recognized for their action during the 2017 ECA Wildwater Canoeing European Championships in Skopje, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

Kayaking the Continent with a great cause

Anna Blackwell and Kate Culverwell are only hours away from their scheduled departure to an interesting kayaking journey with a great cause. 19- and 24-year-old paddlers from Oxford will kayak from England to the Black Sea and raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer Action - a cause close to the heart of Kate Culverwell, whose father David died as a result of the disease in 2015 - with their intended journey.

Paracanoeists compete for the places in national teams

Canoeing season 2018 is in a full swing in majority of European countries and selection races are already being held or will be soon to win a spot in the national teams. Great Britain already has selected teams for canoe slalom events, while canoe sprint and paracanoeing athletes followed them this weekend with their selection races. German canoe sprint and paracanoeing athletes are also showing their form to win spots in team to represent Germany at international events.

Multiple World Champion Nejc Žnidarčič takes the win at the second ECA Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup in 2018

Kolpa River, a border river between Croatia and Slovenia, hosted the second ECA Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup race of the season 2018. Like in the first event last weekend in Skopje (MKD) Croatian canoeists showed their strength in men’s C1 with another triple win. It was similar in men’s kayak event where Slovenian World and European Wildwater Sprint Champions occupied the top three positions.

Spain in search of the fastest K4 crew

It is not an easy task to get a place in the Spanish K4 500 metres boat. Seven kayakers are still in play to become a part of this crew with eyes set on Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Different combinations with Saul Craviotto, Cristian Toro, Marcus Cooper, Carlos Garrote, Rodrigo Germade, Roi Rodríguez and Carlos Arévalo are to be tested in Trasona regatta field before reaching the final decision who will win a spot in the boat.
