Spanish Canoeing says goodbye to José Antonio Muñoz, one of the key figures in Andalusian canoeing

Royal Spanish Canoe Federation reports on another loss for Spanish canoeing and sport. Only days after the passing of José Luis Calvo Román, former paddler and coach and RFEP's official, another sad news comes with the passing of José Antonio Muñoz, known as Anchoa, one of the key figures in promotion of canoeing in Andalusia.

José Luis Calvo Román (1945 - 2018)

Royal Spanish Canoe Federation (RFEP) informed of the passing of José Luis Calvo Román, former paddler and coach. José Luis Calvo Román was a Spanish Champion in the season 1963. He was also a team leader of Spanish canoeing team at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul.
 
We would like to express sincere condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace.

European Canoeing events kick off in less than 10 days

The wait is finally over. European canoeing competitions in the season 2018 will start in less than 10 days with the Wildwater Sprint Canoeing European Cup. The first event of the series will take place in Skopje, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, on April 7th. Venue which hosted last year’s senior Wildwater Canoeing European Championships, awaits the best Europe’s Junior and U23 paddlers this August for another edition of ECA European Championships as well.

Slovak Canoeing mourns former president Anton Zerer

Sad news comes from Slovakia where canoeing family mourns the death of Anton Zerer, a sports journalist and former president of the Slovak Canoe Slalom and Wildwater Federation. Anton Zerer (born in 1950) was a president of the federation between the years 2001 and 2002.
