The Paris 2024 Olympic Games have come to an end and it is time for next canoeing competitions. Krakow will turn into canoe slalom capital this week as it hosts the 2024 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships between Wednesday and Sunday.

Exciting canoeing action at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has come to an end on Saturday, a day before the curtain fell on the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad with closing ceremony. 49 medals were awarded at the National Olympic Nautical Stadium of Île-de-France in Vaires-sur-Marne in canoe sprint and canoe slalom. Majority of the medals – 32 – were awarded to representatives of European nations, and Europe remains the strongest canoeing continent.

Czech canoeist Martin Fuksa is one of the best canoe sprinters in the world with numerous European and World Championships titles and medals, however Olympic medal has always been slipping away from him. Now, all is forgotten as he won his first Olympic medal and Olympic Champion title in Paris. Germany celebrated gold in men’s K2 500 metres final.
