Bratislava, Slovakia, not only hosts the Canoe Slalom Junior and U23 European Championships, but also the 2018 ECA Canoe Freestyle European Championships, which is run in the channel next to where the slalom competition is held. On the opening day of championships men's K1 and C2 and women's junior K1 events preliminary rounds were organised.

The competition part of the European Championships will be held between Thursday and Sunday. The first medallists will be known on Friday when team events are scheduled, while on Saturday and Sunday we will follow individual semi-finals and finals.
Slovak capital Bratislava will turn into the wildwater capital this week. The wildwater course in Čunovo will host two European Championships: the 2018 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom European Championships and at the same time also the 2018 ECA Canoe Freestyle European Championships.
