Spain hosted the 82nd edition of world renowned International descent of the River Sella (Descenso del Sella), taking place in Asturias. The event started in 1930 but was then on hold for a couple of years during the Spanish Civil War. In 1951 the descent already became an international event with participants from Portugal and Italy coming to the river Sella.

The 2018 ECA Junior Canoe Slalom Cup series concluded with the final two events that were held in Česke Budejovice, Czech Republic. Young competitors from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Austria, France, Ireland, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Belgium, United States of America and Croatia took part in the last two events of the year.

The 2018 ECA Junior and U23 Wilwater Canoeing European Championships in Skopje, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, has come to an end with exciting individual and team sprint events. In four events we’ve seen the same European Champions as in the classic individual races that were on the programme on Thursday. Barbora Dimovova was once more the best in women’s junior K1, Cecilia Panato picked up her second individual gold medal in women’s junior C1 and Augustin Reboul celebrated titles in junior K1 event as well as in junior C2 together with Gael de Brye.

The penultimate day of the 2018 ECA Junior and U23 Wildwater Canoeing European Championships in Skopje, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, brought the names of athletes who will fight for European Champion titles in Sunday’s individual wildwater sprint finals. Majority of the favourites safely advanced to the next stage of the competition, while there were some surprises as we will not see classic race European Champions Marcel Paufer and Darragh Conor Clarke Walls who missed out the spots leading to the final.
